The Vagliano Trophy returns for the first time in four years later this month at Royal Dornoch with GB&I bidding to win the biennial showdown for the first time since 2005 (June 30-July 1).
Half the squad announced today comes from the England team that retained the European Team Championship last year – Rosie Belsham (Whitley Bay), Charlotte Heath (Huddersfield), Caley McGinty (Knowle) and Lottie Woad (Farnham).

Beth Coulter, a quarter-finalist at last week’s Women’s Amateur at Prince’s, is one of two Irish players to have made it in alongside Lahinch talent Aine Donegan.
Hannah Darling, the World No 11, will make her debut in the event alongside Welsh and Irish Open champion Lorna McClymont (Milngavie). Both Scots were knocked out in the early stages of the matchplay rounds in Kent.
The format of the competition sees two days of foursomes (x3) and fourball (x3) and then eight singles matches on the final day. The Continent of Europe team have won the last seven meetings and 11 of the last 13.
In the last match, at Royal Sandwich in 2019, The Europeans took the spoils 14.5-9.5.

Dornoch will also host the Junior Vagliano Trophy, which GB&I has never won in seven meeting. It was started in 2011 and players must be under 16 on January 1st.
The Buckinghamshire’s Rosie Kim will make her third appearance in the contest and is one of four English-based girls to have earned a place. She will be joined by Sadie Adams (Royal Birkdale), Isobel Kelly (Erewash Valley), who represents Wales, and Chloe Tarbard (Royal Norwich).
Scottish Girls Open champion Olivia Costello has also made it in alongside her Irish team-mate Kate Dillion.
The contest is played over two days and is made up of three foursomes in the morning and then six singles in the afternoon.
