Berkhamsted GC claimed the Hertfordshire Men’s Senior Champion Club title for the first time thanks to a three-shot victory at Aldenham Golf and Country Club.

The team of Kevin Ratcliffe (2), Gordon Stewart (2) and Peter York (0) secured the title from Brookmans Park, who were indebted to a superb 71 from Phil Embleton for their second place finish. He took the individual prize and was five shots clear of the rest.

The competition started in 2007 and it has been dominated by Moor Park, who have won it eight times but this year they were down in sixth.

A total of 71 players took part.
