Hillsborough’s experienced trio guided them to the Yorkshire Division Six Team Championship at Leeds GC today.
Neil Bromley (three over), club captain Shaun Tarplett (four over) and Jon Berrisford (seven over) did the business for the South Yorkshire club, who finished two clear of The Oaks, who were grateful to a superb 67 from Harry Lee, the only one to finish under par out of 54 participants.
Bromley looked set to join him having raced to three under par after four holes but he struggled around the turn before playing the last six holes in level par.
The other four clubs to gain entry to the Division Five event at Northcliffe on May 19th were Headingley (+19), West Bradford (+20), Filey (+21) and Division Seven champions Bracken Ghyll (+21).
The culmination of the competition (Yorkshire Team Championship) takes place at Ganton on July 27.
