Leicestershire course Kirby Muxloe will host the second Elexis Brown Golf Foundation Charity Golf Day in April.
Last year’s inaugural event attracted a full field and raised nearly £6,000 for the charity which supports talented youngsters, who might otherwise struggle to get into the game for a variety of reasons.
It is currently supporting four juniors with equipment and coaching plus membership of a local golf club.
The foundation was started and is run by the family and friends of talented golfer Elexis Brown, who died suddenly last year aged just 13. Elexis’s dad Ben Peter is the main organiser and he explained why a charity evening, complete with disco and hot food, has been added.
“We wanted something fun for non players and players to do together,” he said.

“The evening do is open to all children and families so they can have some fun after a stressful day!”
This year’s golf event, complete with 11am shotgun start, will see teams of four compete for £750 in prizes. There will be some two-tee starts so Ben and his team are looking to attract 24 teams and he is also hoping to get a minimum of five all-junior line-ups involved.
Welsh pro Hannah Bowen, once again, will be on hand to provide the beat-the-pro challenge on one of the par threes and main sponsor Porsche (Leicester) is providing some fabulous prizes as part of a Super Raffle.
Those wanting to book their tee time, can do so through the Kirby Muxloe BRS system here although anyone wanting more information can visit theelexisbrowngolffoundation.com or ring Ben on 07712 106660.
