2.35pm: Liam Nolan lost to Austin Greaser 3&1
2.45pm: Alex Maguire lost to David Ford 4&2
6.25pm: I hope you have enjoyed the coverage. We will reconvene at Cyprus Point in 2025 when USA will be bidding for five in a row.
6.23pm: And that’s it! Liam Nolan concedes on 17 and the USA have won by 3 points, the gap GB&I had first thing this morning. What a turnaround!
6.21pm: Mark Power birdies 18 and wins a rare point for the GB&I side. Another strong walker Cup showing from the Irishman. He was so good 2 years ago at Seminole.
6.19pm: David Ford birdies 16 and it’s all over! Great way to finish it off. Brilliant stuff for the excitable left hander.
6.18pm: David Ford almost holes his 2nd at 16. That’s just twisting the life fella!
6.13pm: What a shame for the GB&I team, who performed so brilliantly yesterday. To lead by 3 at halfway and lose so badly will really hurt.
6.10pm: The USA have won the Walker Cup with Ford 3 up with 3 to play in the bottom match. They will get at least 13.5 points.
6.08pm: The USA have retained the Walker Cup. Melante doesnt get down in 2 but Greaser has a guaranteed half point in match 9.
6.01pm: It’s a red tide and another shillacking for GB&I in the final day singles. What an anti climax. Gutted for some great guys.
5.56pm: So close to an amazing par for McClean but Melante does not miss from 8 feet and goes 1 up. It’s nearly all over!
5.52pm: McClean…unconventional on 17. Power…poetry in motion on 16
5.49pm: Oh no!! McClean goes long on 17 and you don’t go long on 17. Melante is right at the back of the green. Advantage USA!
5.47pm: What a way to finish things off for Jack Bigham. The first GB&I point as the Englishman holes out from 25 feet to beat Gabrelcik.
5.46pm: The equation is simple. GB&I has to take 4.5 points out of the last 5 matches. Miracle time now for the home side.
5.42pm: More bad news for GB&I in match 6 where McClean fluffs his par putt on 16 while Ford is 3 up with 5 to play in the bottom match
5.40pm: It looked like the stand-out match and Gough and Sargent delivered but the American’s power just edged it. Another USA point and 4-0 for the World No 1.
5.34pm: Gordon Sargent take a bow. 3 wood pin high on 18 after taking a tiger line and that is probably that. John Gough hits his 60 feet past.
5.31pm: Gough has to hole his bogey putt on 17 to give himself a chance but can’t manage it and the World No 1 is 1 up going down the last.
5.23pm: Hey up lads… there is a long way to go yet. Lots of American supporters celebrate with Summerhays on 15.
5.21pm: Oh ****! John Gough goes OB on 17 and nearly lands in Brad Faxon’s bedroom. What a time do that. Agonising!
5.15pm: Barclay Brown misses his birdie putt…just and, from 6 feet, Dunlap does not, levelling things up. The US man was 3 down with 4 to play.
5.12pm: Brown and Dunlap are both 72 feet away on 18. The ref is pacing it out but how do we know her paces are the same length? Old school
5.08pm: Connor Graham couldn’t have done much more against an inspired Hagestad, who puts the USA ahead with a 3&2 victory.
5.06pm: Gough celebrates like a man possessed as he gets it back to all square against Sargent on 15. Fist pump of the year!
5.03pm: Dunlap misses badly with his par putt on 17 but Brown can’t seal the deal from 7 feet. It’s going down the last with GB&I 1up.
5.00pm: Brilliance from Brown on 17. Chips out of the rough to 5 feet. That’s more like it lad!
4.57pm: OH MY GOD. What a blow from Hagestad on 15. He holes from 60 feet to go 2up against Connor Graham. Some footage today from the veteran.
4.53pm: Brown is unravelling. A huge hoick…yes hoick left on 17 and he faces a truly devilish approach into The Road Hole. Oh no!!
4.51pm: Gough falls behind at 14 as Sargent’s prodigious length proves critical, the American birdieing the par five.
4.48pm: First cheers of ‘USA, USA, USA’ at 16. Unfortunately we couldn’t go 2 days without it. Shame.
4.46pm: Big wobbles for GB&I with Brown going OB at 16 and all of a sudden Dunlap is right in this. Should win and will be only 1 down with 2 to play.
4.44pm: It has noticeably swung the USA’s way in the last few minutes. Melante and James have hit back down the order.
4.40pm: It’s all over in the top match as Surratt birdies 16 and he has beaten Calum Scott 3&2.
4.39pm: John Gough fist pump and then some! The Englishman could run through a brick wall right now after holing a huge one on 13. What a fighter he is.
4.36pm: Oh WOW: Surratt almost holes his approach on 16. That’s a dagger blow for Scott, who is miles away in 2. USA might be level shortly
4.32pm: It’s all GB&I at the moment. Ashfield critically wins 12, holing out from 10 feet to hang on in there against Summerhays.
4.30pm: Squeaky bum time for Surratt on the 16th tee. He gets a massive kick left when a bounce right would have seen him go out of of bounds. Huge break.
4.26pm: It’s not all over in the top match as Scott wins 15 to get back to 2 down. A nervy 4 footer is holed with ease. You just never know!
4.24pm: And Brown has won 14 to go 3 up. He has really come good on the back nine and gets a big roar! He was 1 down after 8.
4.20pm: What a run for McClean! He is back A/S with Melante after 10 having been 3 down after 6. Huge for GB&I
4.19pm: I told you Surratt was pumped! The American goes way long at 15 and Scott has a small opening! Has to win this hole!
4.18pm: The pin on 13! It’s on top of a pimple. Mickelson would be struggling to chip close in these conditions
4.13pm: Surratt is clearly pumped up. The way he stuck his driver back in the bag reminded me of a miffed Davy Ingram circa 1988. If you know you know!
4.10pm: Surratt is 3up with 4 to play and that could be the fatal blow for Calum Scott. The American has led from the front so well.
4.08pm: Hey up! Brown goes 2up on 13 and Graham gets a shot back on 12 to halve the deficit with Hagestad! Massive moves for GB&I
4.07pm: magical stuff from Surratt at 14. A long bunker shot and he makes it look so easy. he has play some brilliant golf this weekend.
4.00pm: Are we seeing a GB&I surge? Liam Nolan has won 5 to get back to A/S against Greaser! This is bubbling up nicely.
3.57pm: And some good news for Ashfield on 9. The Welshman wins his first hole and is now 4 down. You never know. Remember Calcavecchia!
3.53pm: Anything you can do… Stuart Hagestad holes the putt of the week at 11 to go 2 up. It must have had 30 feet of break. Obscene hole-out.
3.52pm: Also a big charge from Mark Power, who won 4, 5 and 6 to go 2up over Ben James. The boys at the bottom of the order are starting to deliver.
3.50pm: Big news down the bottom of the order where McClean has won 7 and 8 and now trails Melante by just 1. That’s massive for GB&I
3.45pm: Holy smokes! Connor Graham holes a bomb on 10 and this boy is putting on a putting masterclass! A great roar ensues but Hagestad follows him from 15 feet. Wow!
3.43pm: Ominous times in match 4. World No 1 Sargent wins another to go ahead of Gough
3.41pm: Great news for GB&I in match 2 where Nick Dunlap loses a fight with the green-side bunker and Barclay Brown is ahead for the 1st time.
3.39pm: And Scott hangs on in again at 12. Surratt can’t convert from 15 feet and remains 2 up with 6 to play.
3.34pm: Bad few minutes for GB&I with Ashfield going 5 down after 7 while McClean and is now 3 down to Melante. The top 4 matches look pivotal.
3.32pm: Loving the Barclay Brown fist pump on 10 but Dunlap follows him in to stay A/S. Great stuff and the quality is rising.
3.30pm: Connor Graham can’t do it again on 9 and Hagestad goes 1up at halfway. It’s been a great ding-dong showdown so far.
3.26pm: What massive hole-out from 10 feet for Scott on 11. A tricky downhiller is nailed and the first-day hero is sticking in there without playing his best stuff.
3.24pm: There is an eventful game at the bottom of the order with Mark Power back to A/S after 4. fancy this game will be pivotal in the final shake-up.
3.22pm: With XS polo shirt blowing hard, Connor Graham holes out from 5 feet to stay A/S with Hagestad. What a pick this boy has proved!
3.17pm: Good news for Barclay Brown at 9. Dunlap found trouble off the tee and the GB&I player is back on level terms, Just the tonic for the hosts.
3.16pm: Wow John Gough is having a time of it. Shouts fore at the 7th but the ball spins back on to the green when he must have thought is was heading into the gallery.
3.12pm: Connor Graham… that’s my boy. The 16-year-old sinks a long one for birdie at seven and is back level with Hagestad. Great stuff!
3.09pm: It’s looking very good for the Americans but GB&I came good on the back nine and can history repeat itself
3.06pm: OH MY GOD. John Gough… sensational. Holes his 2nd at the 6th to go back ahead. Wow and Gough celebrates. What a moment. Going, going…
3.01pm: Surratt has plenty of grunt and shows it at par four 9th, where his drives goes close to the pin. Scott can’t find the putting surface. Such a great matchplay hole.
2.56pm: Good news down the order for GB&I with Liam Nolan winning the first against Austin Greaser. Boy he is having a good Walker Cup.
2.53pm: Not sure some of these Marshalls have the right glasses on. Just saying!

2.43pm: Summerhays is looking on it and has another great birdie opportunity at the 4th after sticking it to 8 feet. Ashfield has his work cut out this afternoon.
2.41pm: Big roar for Scott at the 7th tee as he splits the fairway. So much support for the Nairn man. If he starts winning holes it will get very noisy.
2.36pm: Huge boost for Ashfield at 3. Holes out from 8 feet for birdie to stay 2 down. If he gets going will trouble Summerhays, who is still 2up.
2.34pm: Surratt is producing Ballesteros-style wild and wonderful golf and another excellent approach at the 6th. Hard to play against golfers doing that.
2.29pm: That’s more like it! Jack Bigham wins the first with an excellent birdie. Just the boost after his unfortunate loss last night.
2.27pm: Surratt sinks his 30-incher to go 2up over Scott in the top match. There is a lot of red on that scoreboard already! Long way to go though.
2.25pm: Sargent can’t convert at 3 to get it back to A/S. John Gough is still the only GB&I player with a lead. early USA momentum.
2.22pm: Bit of a worrying start for James Ashfield. Another bogey for the Welsh ace and he is 2 down to Summerhays. Needs to find his groove.

2.18pm: Big boost for Barclay Brown at the 4th. Yorkshireman holes out from 6 feet to stay one down to Dunlap. Needs to get going.
2.15pm: The effects mics are picking up the wind. Definitely breezier than yesterday. Perfect links conditions. Sunny and breezy.
2.10pm: GB&I have a lead and it is the talismanic John Gough who goes ahead at the 2nd. Sargent misses his 5-foot par effort. This clash is massive.

2.06pm: Brown not even in the same postcode with his par putt on 3 and Nick Dunlap goes 1 up after three. Not a great start from the Englishman
2.03pm: Connor Graham wins GB&I’s first hole of the session. Hagestad, having lipped out from 80 feet, misses a short par putt and it’s A/S
1.57pm: Ice cold from the World No 1, who holes his 7-foot par putt at the first to stay A/S with John Gough, who never threatened with his birdie effort.
1.56pm: Scott had 14 birdies yesterday and gets his first at 3! A big swinging hole-out and Surratt follows him in from 6 feet to stay 1 up
1.53pm: Scott and Surratt both in close at 3. Big birdie chances in the top match. Already looks like it could be a classic.
1.50pm: In 2019 the USA came from a point down in the final singles to surge to a 15-5-10.5 victory. Good job omens mean nothing!
1.49pm: Hagestad holes from 15 feet at the 1st and the scoreboard is red. Connor Graham 1 down after 1. Early days #NotPanickingYet
1.48pm: At the 1st, Sargent goes a long way left. Not a great angle for the World No 1 while Gough funds one straight down the middle.
1.46pm: It Gough v Sargent… think Nadal v Federer, Borg v McEnroe, Price v Mickelson. Mouthwatering
1.44pm: Early drama at the 2nd with Scott and Surratt making a bit of mess of things. A triple for the home player and USA are ahead in the top match.
1.43pm: Hagestad responds to Graham by flying one over the pin and both have a similar distance putt for birdie at the 1st
1.42pm: Strange tee shot off the first for Connor Graham but an excellent approach to 15 feet. The Scot is exactly half his opponent’s age.
1.40pm: Brown and Dunlap halve the first in 3s. Here we go!!
1.38pm: Don’t worry…the pithy and irreverent coverage is about pour out of me like water out of an Italian fountain.

1.29pm: In other news, after 1 hole the real Calum Scott is all square in the opening singles match with in-form Caleb Surratt
1.27pm: How many people are going to Google Calum Scott today and get a page full of this (I’m guessing more than 250)…
