Delamere Forest’s Immy Williamson coped admirably in brutal conditions to secure her second consecutive Cheshire Girls title at Prestbury.
The 14-year-old, who earlier this year was runner-up at the Cheshire Ladies Championship – Curtis Cup squad member Bel Wardle won the final – was the only player to break 80 on a day where winds were gusting up to 40mph.
The England Girls North West squad member birdied the last for a five over par 79, four ahead of Isabella Taylor-Stokes, who enjoyed a remarkable eagle-par-birdie start. She also birded the 18th for an admirable 83.
Immy, who is coached by Richard Green – he also looks after Bronte Law and Bel Wardle – has also been named in the Cheshire ladies squad for the Northern Counties Match Week at Alnmouth, starting on June 28th.
The nine-hole competition at Prestbury was won by Naomi Willians, who claimed 24 points.
