FORMAT: 36-hole stroke play
Ellise Rymer completed the county double at Boston yesterday, winning the Lincolnshire Ladies Championship by three shots to add to the girls title she won at the end of May.
The 16-year-old Lincoln player finished three clear of Ellie Haughton (Greetham Valley) thanks to rounds of 72 (-1) and 77 (+4) and stayed calm despite the runner-up making a fast start in the second round.
Ellise, who was five clear after the first round and won the girls title at Market Rasen thanks to rounds of 73 and 74, said: “I putted great and drove the ball really well and it all came together really nicely.”
The teenager, who finished second in the event last time out, enjoyed an eventful first round, chipping in for a birdie at the fifth after shortsiding herself.
She also managed to escaped with a par at 11th after to chipping to 15 feet and the putter stayed hot, particularly at 15 where she rolled one in for a birdie from 30 feet.
After Ellie’s strong start the gap was cut quickly but the Greetham Valley player couldn’t maintain that pace and Ellise was never seriously challenged coming down the stretch.
