Elexis Brown Golf Foundation will support young golfers who need help
Promising junior players are set to benefit from a new foundation set up in the memory of a talented golfer who passed away last August.
The Elexis Brown Golf Foundation was launched last month and its aim is to offer four deserving children a year’s worth of support. Every 12 months a new quartet of youngsters will be selected.
Elexis, who was a member at Woodhall Spa, died suddenly in August aged just 13. Her father Ben is the Chair and a Trustee of the foundation and has been overwhelmed by the support he has received.
He said: “We have received so many donations already and it would be such a wonderful thing to help people out with the foundation and make Elexis’s memory live on in others.”
Ben and the other Trustees – Phil Grimwood and Andrew Myers – have already allocated one of the four spaces for 2022 but are inviting others to apply. Click here if you want to apply.

Each selected junior will receive a year’s free coaching, a year’s membership to a nearby golf club plus receive free equipment courtesy of www.everyshotcounts.co.uk. The ‘goody bag’ will include golf balls, markers, cap and accessories.
The first beneficiary is Hertfordshire’s Sapphire Boyce, who is a member of Harpenden Common GC. Ben met Sapphire and her dad Ian through Jason and Maisie Whittall. Elexis and Maisie played on the Robert Rock Tour in 2020.
Ben added: “Sapphire is a fantastic young lady and the family have had some really bad luck of late, so we have stepped in to help out.”
Ben and the other Trustees are due to have meetings with potential supporters, the Golf Foundation and Lincolnshire County Girls and Ladies, later this month and a fundraising charity golf day has been arranged at Stonebridge GC on April 12th.
