Golf balls finding their way into unusual places is the topic of discussion that just won’t go away!
It all started when we ran a story about Royal Mid Surrey member Seamus Joyce finding a ball nestled halfway up a tree stump with an Egyptian goose standing guard.
Then earlier this week Leeds golfer Damien Beggs sent us pictures of his ball lodged 10 feet up a tree at Howley Hall.
And this time Suffolk golfer Barry Ovenden contacted us on Facebook to let us know about the highly unfortunate resting place for his drive while playing the ninth at Ufford Park in May.

Somehow the ball managed to not drop to the floor after hitting a small splindly tree.
Unfortunately the ball became lodged in the densest part of the woodland about six foot in the air. Critically the spikes coming out of the thin branches seem to have done for Barry, who is a member of the Ufford Golf Society.
And after taking a penalty drop he would go on to take a nine… a very heavy price to pay for one wayward drive.
