The highly-popular Ladies London Foursomes is the second major spring event to fall foul of bad weather.
Hot on the heels of snow forcing the abandonment of the Sunningdale Foursomes earlier this month, a trolley ban at host club Burnham Beeches led to the withdrawal of “a quarter of the clubs”, leaving competition organisers with few options.
The scratch competition, which was due to start today has, in recent times, been won by Annabel Dimmock and Inchi Mehmet and it is open to clubs located within a 55-mile radius of Charing Cross station in London.

At statement on http://www.ladieslondonfoursomes.co.uk said: “It is with regret, that the prevailing weather and ground conditions have led to a trolley ban which in consequence has forced one quarter of the Clubs entered to withdraw.
“As a result, we have unfortunately taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s tournament at Burnham Beeches this week.
“We will be in touch with the clubs in due course with respect to refunding the entry fees. In the meantime, we will make all efforts to reschedule later in the year if possible.”
