A second-round birdie glut from Beaconsfield’s Tim Whitaker helped him to a two-shot victory in the BB&O Seniors Championship at Newbury & Crookham GC.
The Buckinghamshire player carded a one-under-par 68 which included seven birdies to win from club-mate Michael Sanders, who had five birdies in his second round 69.
The event was staged over two days (Wednesday/Thursday) with 64 players taking part.
Frilford Heath’s Andy Elmey led at halfway thanks to two over par 71 but a five over par outward nine in round two put him out of contention.
The nett prize was won by Kevin Murray (Frilford Heath), who took the prize on countback from East Berkshire’s Nicholas Lane.
