Entry for Regional and Final Open Qualifying was today opened by the R&A.
In the region of 1,400 golfers are expected to compete across the 13 Regional Qualifying events on June 26th for a place in Final Qualifying. The venues are Alwoodley, Caldy, County Louth, Ferndown, Goswick, Hesketh, Kedleston Park, Kilmarnock (Barassie), Minchinhampton, Moor Park, Northamptonshire County, North Hants and Rochester & Cobham Park.
A starting field of 288 will then progress to four Final Qualifying competitions at Burnham & Berrow, Dundonald Links, Royal Cinque Ports and West Lancashire on July 4th when a minimum of 16 players will qualify for The 151st Open at Royal Liverpool (July 20-23).

Johnnie Cole-Hamilton, Executive Director (Championships) at The R&A, said: “Regional and Final Qualifying events have always stirred up drama and excitement as golfers compete to earn their place in The Open and we anticipate this year being no different.
“We look forward to seeing who emerges to take their place at Royal Liverpool in July.”
