DAY THREE
7.56pm: The USA have won the Curtis Cup. Rachel Kuehn beats Caley McGinty 2&1. And that is that! GB&I just didn’t bring enough of their best stuff across 3 days. Some odd decisions along the way from the visiting side as well… too many short putts given to the home side. At this level you can’t give any quarter.
7.45pm: The USA have retained the Curtis Cup. Rachel Kuehn is dormie against Caley McGinty and they are guaranteed 10 points.
7.44pm: How many 6-8 footers has Rachel Heck holed today! Amazing from the World No 4. Lauren Walsh responds well from 5 feet. Who won it?? its been a long weekend!
7.34pm: LATEST SCORES
7.32pm: Lauren Walsh has to hole it from 12 feet at 14 and does. Wow there have been putts held in this tie. Heck is 3 up with 4 to play. Battling effort.
7.18pm: Oh Heck (sorry). Lauren Walsh goes 4 down with 5 to play and the USA could win the Curtis Cup in about 15 minutes. Heck’s putting has been outstanding.
7.15pm: Migliaccio goes 4 up on Annabel Fuller thru 9. With the other ties in the balance, that is a nice bit of insurance for the USA team.
7.10pm: Lauren Walsh has got some fighting spirit and turns it around at 12. Looks certain to lose the hole but sinks one from 15 feet to stay 3 down against Rachel Heck.
6.58pm: The putts are dropping from everywhere for the home side and Kuehn goes 1 up on McGinty on 12. Quality in this match is high.
6.56pm: All eyes on the Lauren Walsh match and the Irish player looks to have won 11 with a great birdie hole-out but Rachel Hecks follows her in from 18 feet to stay 3 up
6.53pm: An awful end for Louise Duncan as she makes a mess of 13 and loses 7&5 to world No 1 Rose Zhang. The USA just need half a point to retain the trophy.
6.51pm: LATANNA STONE! Out-Bloody-rageous. Sinks one from 30 feet for a half against Charlotte Heath. When it’s going for you and your team…
6.49pm: LATEST SCORES
6.45pm: Louise Duncan holes a long one for birdie at 12 and a much needed fillip. Zhang follows her in. She is a machine on the green. The USA ace is still 6 up.
6.42pm: Rose Zhang looks disgusted as she almost holes her 2nd at 12. Really?? Please!
6.40pm: Emily Price has gone 2 up in the bottom match against Amari Avery and it is the first time a GB&I player has got 2 ahead.
6.38pm: Hannah Darling has struggled on the greens all week and she misses a ten footer at 8 to go 1 up over Jensen Castle. A huge explosion makes her step back and restart. V weird.
6.35pm: Zhang goes 6 up after 11 and the American could win it at the next. She has barely put a foot wrong all day. Even a peak Duncan wouldn’t have coped with this.
6.33pm: LATEST SCORES
6.23pm: The punchy Price has gone 1 up thru 4 and GB&I are back to being up in one match. It’s better than nothing!
6.21pm: Emilia Miglicaccio is 3 up after 5 against Annabell Fuller and, have to say, I didn’t see that coming. But that’s not saying much. My eyesight’s terrible.
6.15pm: Tough watching Lauren Walsh at 8. She is being put through the rinser and goes 4 down to Rachel Heck. With Zhang five ahead, the USA could win this inside the hour.
6.09pm: GB&I are now not leading in any match as Latanna Stone wins the fifth to get back on terms with Charlotte Heath. This could get messy.
6.04pm: LATEST SCORES
5.59pm: Louise Duncan is 5 down to Rose Zhang after 8 and I am afraid she isn’t coming back from that. GB&I will have to win the other 7 matches to win the Curtis Cup.
5.54pm: A tiny bit of GB&I momentum as Caley McGinty levels up her match with Kuehn. That’s 2 in a row for the English player.
5.52pm: A first win on the day for Lauren Walsh and she really needed that. A solid putt from 5 feet and the Irish golfer is 2 down thru 6 against Rachel Heck.
5.43pm: A rare bit of good news for GB&I as McGinty gets one back at the fifth and is now just 1 down to Rachel Kuehn.
5.41pm: Eek. Annabell Fuller is 2 down after 2 to Migliaccio, who hasn’t been firing until now but early signs are not good for GB&I
5.40pm: Thank God for Mike Whan. That little promo makes me feel better every time
5.37pm: LATEST SCORES
5.35pm: Louise Duncan is getting Zhanged here. The World No 1 is 4 up thru 6. This could be over quickly for GB&I. The Scot looks a bit shellshocked.
5.30pm: The official USGA scoreboard has Kuehn winning the fifth. That’s a bit of a bugger and McGinty is 2 down after 5.
5.28pm: Kuehn holes out at 5 but confusion as the announcer announces a 4 for McGinty and 3 for Kuehn. Let’s hope that is a mistake. All v confusing
5.26pm: The pride of Gloucestershire Caley McGinty almost holes her second at 5, aka the hole of death. Just what GB&I need. Kuehn will have a 4 footer to halve the hole.
5.24pm: LATEST SCORES
5.23pm: Rose Zhang is 3 up thru 5 in the top match and she’s won it it with a par. If GB&I are going to turn this around something dramatic has to happen fast.
5.10pm: GB&I win their first hole and it is Charlotte Heath in match 4. A stunning approach at one to 6 inches and Latanna Stone misses from distance.
5.08pm: Not happening for Louise Duncan with the putter. Gets a great read from Zhang’s birdie chance but the Scot can’s hole out from 10 feet and stays 2 down thru 4.
5.01pm: McGinty can’t find the bottom of the cup from 12 feet at 3. A decent birdie chance but it’s nowhere near it. All a bit flat for GB&I at the moment.
4.54pm: LATEST SCORES
4.48pm: It’s v v early but the signs aren’t looking good for a Medinah plus plus style fightback. Lauren Walsh loses the first and GB&I are down in the top 3 matches.
4.43pm: Louise Duncan has a great chance to get ahead in the top match at two but misses to the right and then misses the 4-foot return. Zhang goes 1 up. Huge sickener for the Scot.
4.36pm: And there we have it. Rachel Kuehn wins the first hole of the day with an excellent birdie. Not the start GB&I wanted but there is a long way to go.
4.26pm: The first between Zhang and Duncan is halved in birdies. If this is the start of things to come then bring it on!
4.24pm: Wow what a start from Zhang and Duncan. Both hit approaches inside 4 feet at the first. All the water should have taken the heat out of the greens.
4.18pm: And we’re off. Louise Duncan finds the middle of the fairway. Rose Zhang also finds the short stuff!
3.54pm: The wait goes on. We are now due to start at 4.15pm. So much for changing the tee times to avoid the weather, They could have all had a lie in!
How they line up for Sunday’s singles (which are now due to start at 3.45pm our time)…
DAY TWO
12.20am: Hannah Darling holes out from 14 feet and GB&I win the bottom match 2&1 but the USA just need 1.5 points to retain the Curtis Cup in tomorrow’s singles.
12.12am: LATEST SCORES
12.10am: Hannah Darling holes out to win a hole for GB&I on 16. It’s too little too late but the Scot has had a rough time and it clearly meant a lot.
12.06pm: Avery wins her 4th match as the 18-year-old and Kuehn see off Price and Williamson on 18. The mountain to climb just became mountain several mountain ranges for GB&I
11.56pm: Oh no…The Walshinator! McGinty and Walsh were 4 up after 9 but Zhang and Rose come back to level the match on 18. Gutting!
11.53pm: Jensen Castle is tenacious and Darling can’t hold the 8 foot birdie putt. GB&I had to win 15. I’ve got a bad feeling about this even though the USA trail by 1
11.48pm: Price and Williamson win 17 and take it down 18. Still a half point up for grabs with Avery and Kuehn 1 up.
11.42pm: Hannah Darling can’t hole out from 6 feet and the bottom GB&I pair are just 1 up with 4 to play now. Talk about a session of two halves.
11.40pm: Agony for Walsh as she misses her par putt and Rachel Heck just misses but in the match behind Avery holes at 16 to go dormie and no sweep happening.
11.30pm: How things change
11.27pm: It’s all going a bit pear shaped for GB&I as McGinty chips from the rough into the rough and Williamson/Price fall behind with 3 to play
11.20pm: Latest scores
11.18pm: Did Fuller and Darling just concede a 3 footer? Surely not. Really hope that doesn’t come back to bite them as Stone and Castle get it back to 2 down after 12.
11.15pm: Williamson almost holes one from 30 yards. The GB&I rookies are hanging on in there. Avery just misses her birdie attempt and Kuehn tidies up well on 14. A/S.
11.03pm: McGinty and Walsh stay 2 up with 3 to play as Walsh holes out from 3 feet… A real nerve jangler at this stage and they’re all good holeouts at this stage.
10.58pm: Seve-esque from Amelia Williamson out of the bunker on 13 and this GB&I pair need something inspirational. Price holes the 3 and a half footer to keep them A/S
10.55pm: How much does Emily Price swing it like Keegan Bradley!? Now I’ve said you’ll never unsee it.
10.48pm: Definitely some American momentum as Stone and Castle get a shot back in the bottom match and Zhang and Heck are back to 2 down with 5 to play.
10.43pm: There is another spurt of USA momentum but all eyes on the middle match. If GB&I can get to 7-5 tonight it’s a different ball game.
10.36pm: Oh bugger. Avery and Kuehn have all the momentum and it’s back to A/S after 11 in the middle match. Price and Williamson have to win this match.
10.25pm: Good and bad for GB&I. McGinty/Walsh back to 4 up after 11 but Castle and Stone finally win a hole in the bottom match and Fuller/Darling 3 up thru 8.
10.23pm: We’ve all been there Rachel. Heck of a lie
10.21pm: LATEST SCORES
10.12pm: MASSIVE PUTT. Rose Zhang holds out from 15 feet but Caley McGinty follows her in from 8 feet for the half. Huge to keep the US pair at arm’s length
10.10pm: Is there a ‘busier’ player on the planet than Jensen Castle? I’ll wait.
10.05pm: You can’t hold back Amari Avery for too long and she holds a monster birdie putt on 8 and it’s now just 1 up for Williamson and Price. What a player she is already.
9.56pm: LATEST SCORES (Boy that looks good)
9.52pm: GB&I are going to lose a hole. I forgot what it was like tbh. McGinty and Walsh make a mess of 8. Zhang and Heck are going to pull it back to 3 down. No need to panic.
9.48pm: Castle almost holes from 20 feet for par but Fuller misses from 5 feet and the GB&I pair in game 3 are stay 4up thru 5.
9.43pm: The good news just keeps coming. McGinty and Walsh win the 7th to go 4 up and look unstoppable. Having won 5&4 this morning as well.
9.40pm: The 5th green… designed Dick Dastardly
9.32pm: Hannah Darling has caught fire and GB&I have won the first 4 holes in the bottom match. A 12 footer held by the Scot. Incredible stuff.
9.30pm: It’s a blue tide as Caley McGinty holds a big swinger from 20 feet at 6 and GB&I are 3 up in the top match against the all-star Heck and Zhang pair. Wow
9.28pm: Amelia Williamson take a bow! The Norfolk player holes a par putt from 12 feet to stay 2 up against Avery and Kuehn. Mo. Men. Tum
9.24pm: The Walshinator is at it again. Star of the day so far and a superb fairway wood to 15 feet at 6. Along with McGinty, she has really truned up today
9.18pm: Hannah Darling holds from 6 feet and the GB&I bottom pair are 3 up thru 3. Surprise she has been paired with Fuller but it’s working so far!! That scoreboard looks gooood!
9.16pm: Williamson and Price go 2 up thru 4 against Kuehn and Avery. A good start is quickly becoming more. Keep going!
9.12pm: Feeling blue. Very nice.
9.05pm: Fuller holds a tiddler to win the 2nd and Kuehn misses her par putt in match 2 and GB&I are already up in all 3 matches. Time to get the bunting back out.
9pm: With the USA traditionally stronger in the singles, GB&I have to sweep the foursomes today and they have made a good start. McGinty and Walsh have got off to a flier in the top match.
9pm: LATEST SCORES
6.25pm: The USA have turned it around brilliantly. Heath can’t get up and down and Migliaccio two putts so her and Stone win by one hole. It’s 7-2.
6.09pm: It’s A/S in match 3. The US have won the last 2 holes! What a killer blow it would be if Stone and Migliaccio win 18. Golf is tough!
6.00pm: LATEST SCORES
5.53pm: Amari Avery is seriously impressive and she holds a nerve jangling 5 footer for par. Hannah Darling misses from 3 feet and that is it! US win 2&1. Oh dear!
5.49pm: Charlotte Heath can’t birdie 16 from 12 feet and Latanna Stone can from 3 feet and GB&I’s lead is down to 1up with 2 to play.
5.46pm: I think it is fair to say on-course reporter Julia Johnson is no Jeremy Paxman. Let’s just leave it at that!
5.44pm: A bad couple of minutes for GB&I. Stone looks nailed on to get a shot back in the bottom match and Avery hits a stunner at 17. Not now USA. Please!
5.40pm: 17 at Merion… what you hitting? Not the green should be your answer!
5.37pm: Amari Avery giving it large after a birdie on 16 but Annabell Fuller follows her in from 10 feet and is pumped! Go on Annabell! It’s still advantage US with 2 to go. Great stuff.
5.33pm: The full 360 and in from Charlotte Heath from 20 feet. There you go! Massive birdie from the pride of Huddersfield. GB&I 2 up with 3 to go in match 3!
5.25pm: Anyone noticed how much Emilia Migliaccio swings it like Zach Johnson? Uncanny!
5.22pm: LATEST SCORES
5.20pm: Hannah Darling just can’t one to drop. This time from 10 feet at 15 and GB&I are one down with three to play in match 2. Tough, tough holes to come.
5.05pm: Huge putt for Megha Ganne and the US in match 2. The 18-year-old sinks a 10-foot par putt to to stay 1 up on Darling, who has just accidentally punched her team-mate Fuller. A gentle jab but still a knock!
4.59pm: Latanna Stone sinks it from 4 feet to halve the deficit with Duncan and Heath. GB&I just one up now with 5 to play. It’s all tightening up in the bottom 2 ties.
4.50pm: Louise Duncan birdies 12 from 9 feet and GB&I are 2 up in the bottom match. They have to win this session and really need at least 2.5 points while they have their tails up!
4.46pm: LATEST SCORES
4.44pm: Eek! Hannah Darling misses a short one and Avery and Ganne stay 1 up with 5 to play. It is not quite happening for the GB&I star.
4.39pm: And that is GB&I’s second point of the 2022 Curtis Cup. Walsh and McGinty have been superb in dispatching Kuehn and Castle 5&4. Birdies everywhere.
4.36pm: Hannah Darling shows her class at 13 with a gorgeous iron which spins back to 6 feet. Fuller follows her into a similar distance. GB&I cranking it up again!
4.34pm: HOLY… The Walsh-inator almost holds her second at the 14th and that would have closed out the match. Finished a couple of inches from the pin! Stellar!
4.31pm: First birdie for Amari Avery and they go 1 up on Darling and Fuller at the 12th. The 18-year-old has 2 Curtis Cup points already. Just a bit good!
4.28pm: Is it just me or does Lauren Walsh swing it a bit like Graeme McDowell? Are we allowed to mention him post LIV? I’m not sure!
4.25pm: LATEST SCORES
4.24pm: It is the Lauren Walsh show! Another one drops for the Irish ace and her and McGinty are 4 up with 5 to play. It’s just what GB&I needed from their top pair.
4.24pm: Does Jensen Castle have the fastest putting stroke in golf!? Only just noticed it. Wow!
4.19pm: Charlotte Heath is getting a lot of chances and another one slips by at at 11. It’s still A/S in the bottom match. One has to drop soon!
4.13pm: Amari Avery lips out for birdie (would have been her first one of the day) and it is still A/S in the middle match after 11. Darling and Fuller can take this!
4.12pm: Lauren Walsh is rock solid from 4 feet and GB&I are back up to 3 up in the top match. The English/Irish duo are dovetailing very nicely.
4.06pm: Nice clip of Lee Trevino tricking Jack Nicklaus with a rubber snake at the US Open at Merion. We will never see another pro golfer surprised by fake wildlife again. Very sad.

Coming soon…
DAY ONE
10.35pm: A terrible afternoon/evening for the GB&I team. Nothing went right for Elaine Ratcliffe’s side and you don’t have to be off by much at this level but the USA pairs played particularly well in the foursomes and it is hard to imagine they can play quite so well tomorrow. You just never know!
10.30pm: Goodnight Vienna. Heath goes long at 16 and the balls disappears. Williamson leaves it 20 feet short out of the rough and Heath can’t hold the long par putt. 5-1. Ouch.
10.24pm: McGinty almost holes from distance for birdie but it needed to drop and Amari Avery and Rachel Kuehn win 3&2 and it’s 4-1. Painful for GB&I.
10.22pm: Heck and Zhang are 3 up with 3 to play and it won’t be long before the visitors are put out of their misery. It just hasn’t happened for them in the foursomes.
10.12pm: McGinty must want to toss her putter into the gallery. She can’t get it near the hole. Avery holes out from 4 feet and the USA are 3 up with 3 to play.
10.07pm: Another putt missed for GB&I and Heath and Williamson are 3 down with 4 to play. Ragged stuff from the visitors this evening.
10.04pm: The USA are 3-1 up as Castle and Stone win 5&3 against Darling and Duncan. The Americans had 3 for it from 4 feet.
10.00pm: Price and McGinty win 14 and they are 2 down. A bit of momentum for GB&I. They desperately need a point from one of the two bottom matches.
9.56pm: Jensen Castle fires in a stunning approach to all-but close things out against Duncan and Darling, who can’t match the inspired American. She leaves it 25 feet short.
9.53pm: Lovely putt from Amelia Williamson and a big smile to match for the Norfolk player. Some light relief for Heath and Williamson but they are still 2 down with 5 to play.
9.50pm: Duncan and Darling are 4 down with 4 to play. It’s been a really frustrating afternoon for the Scottish duo.
9.47pm: It’s unravelling for GB&I. Price and McGinty 3 putt from not very far and they are 3 down now to Kuehn and Avery. This is going to be 5-1 by tonight. teams don’t come back from 5-1.
9.44pm: Heck and Zhang are handed their 5th win in 8 holes. Williamson has no shot out of the bunker and par is enough for the American powerhouse pair. GB&I are 3 down.
9.40pm: LATEST SCORES
9.36pm: Kuehn pops in the par putt at 12 and the Americans are back to 2 up in the middle match. Price can’t hole from distance for par. This is a tough watch now!
9.32pm: Nearly a bit of magic out of the bunker from McGinty at 12 but nearly doesn’t get you the big gongs. GB&I need to sum up some Medinah-esque powers of recovery.
9.26pm: Stone and Castle are still amazingly only 4 up with 6 to play. Stone misses a tiddler. It’s not Scott Hoch short but the shortest one of the day so far. Escape for GB&I but…
9.20pm LATEST SCORES:
9.16pm: Bazinga! Emily Price’s bunker goes in at pace at 11! Serious pace. Kuehn misses and finally a hole for GB&I after a terrible hour. We need more of it!
9.14pm: Nothing is going well/in/right for Hannah Darling and Louise Duncan… even their decision making is poor. Both pairs have a 3 and a half footer for par and they all agree to give the putts. You are 4 down ladies… not a smart move
9.11pm: A great bunker shot from Charlotte Heath from 60 yards but she hits pin smack in the middle, spinning back fully 40 yards. Incredible misfortune for the GB&I pair. Wow.
9.05pm: McGinty and Price are 2 down after 10! The Gloucestershire player gives the putter the full swish after missing her birdie putt. Tough it out girls! Come on!!
9.03pm: Oh No! Heath misses a short one and Heck and Zhang have 4 holes in a row to go 2 up. The USA are in full steamrollering mode.
9.00pm: Avery drives the green at 10. What a swing this American teenager has. Perfect tempo and loads of grunt. GB&I are down in all the matches and the hosts are piling on the pressure.
8.57pm: Woah it’s all happening. Heck almost holes her tee shot on 9 and Castle puts her 3-foot birdie putt on 10 nearly 4 feet past! Stone holes it to keep her team 4 up.
8.55pm LATEST SCORES:
8.53pm: Latanna Stone responds to Darling’s tee shot with a stunning pitch to three feet. Finesse beats power all day long! Driving for dough… Top USA pair look right on it!
8.50pm: Hannah Darling has some serious length and booms a 3 wood over 250 yards at the short par four 10th and just misses the green. Great play. Might be the trigger…
8.47pm: Rose Zhang has officially come to the party. She was of colour this morning but a beautiful approach at 8 from World No 1 spins back to 4 feet. Williamson responds well though.
8.45pm: Superb birdie attempt from Hannah Darling at 9 but she can’t quite hole it from 25 feet. Stone knocks in the 3 foot par putt. Scots are still 4 down.
8.42pm: Emily Price misses from 7 feet and that would have tied things up against Avery and Kuehn. McGinty has 4 feet coming back the other way and holes out well. Phew!
8.37pm: Heck and Zhang are starting to crank it up and it’s back to all square in the bottom match. The American superstars have won the last 2 holes. Ominous.
8.35pm: It’s 4 now in the top match as Jensen Castle holes out from 12 feet and the Scottish duo are right up against it. Need some Braveheart spirit now!

8.24pm: Latanna Stone misses from 7 feet to put her team 4 up in the top match … small mercies for the GB&I pair who need to find something and quick.
8.18pm: Price and Williamson go 2 down after 6. The Ludlow GC player misses her 12 footer for par and Avery hits a textbook lag effort from a slicktastic 8 feet.
8.15pm: Five is working its dark magic again. Heck and Williamson look bemused as putts get nowhere near. Zhang restores order by knocking in a 7-footer. lead halved in bottom tie.
8.11pm: Stone-cold Latanna! Just when it looks like the top GB&I pair will get a shot back, the American ace holes a par putt from 14 feet. Castle and Stone 3 up after 6.
8.10pm: Rose Zhang finds the green at 5th with her 2nd shot… worthy of a small prize in itself. The world No 1 struggled this morning and looks in better fettle in the 4somes.
8.03pm: Caley McGinty and Emily Price look like they are gelling pretty well and the treacherous 5th is navigated with a par. They’re 1 down to Kuehn and Avery and this looks like it will go down to the wire.
7.57pm: Ouch! Another hole lost to a bogey for Louise Duncan and Hannah Darling and they are three down after 5 but there is a long way to go for the Scottish duo.
7.52pm: LATEST SCORES
