Andrew Haswell picked up his third Northern Order of Merit title in less than a month thanks to another dazzling effort at Bolton Old Links.
FORMAT: 36-hole stroke play
The 19-year-old was one shot off the course record in the morning as he led by two at halfway thanks to a stunning 65 (-7).
In the afternoon he followed it up with a 67 to win by four ahead of Northern Order of Merit title rival Jack Brooks (The Mere).
At the end of August, the Ormskirk player recorded back-to-back victories at Blackburn and Eaton, where he broke the course record at the Cheshire venue.
HOW IT WAS WON: The story of Jack Brooks’ second successive Northern Order of Merit title success
Haswell’s superb effort in the morning left him two ahead of Manchester’s Aiden Hoosen but he fell away after lunch and a closing 73 left him in fifth.
Henriques Trophy champion Matthew Lever (Bolton) followed up his opening 69 with a 70 to finish third, three shots behind Brooks, who posted a 69 and 67 to extend his lead at the top of the overall standings.
